Geulbeot Books started as a used bookstore called Ongodang, which the owners inherited from their maternal uncle in 1979.

It had a reputation as a bookstore specializing in art in front of Hongdae University.

Today, the store sells a wide variety of books other than art books, and many of its longtime customers come in and ask if they can help them find a book.

The slogan "All the books in the world are people" is written in large letters on the outside wall of the building, and he wanted to convey the truth that only people can read books.
