'Gnal’ is the center of Seoul National University's student culture and the last remaining bookstore specializing in humanities and social sciences in Korea.

It supported the student movement as the spiritual root and center of the student movement in the 1980s.

As a result, the owner was once detained for selling transfer marks under the National Security Act, but he was released after fierce student protests.

The name 'Gnal’ is derived from a poem by Shim Hoon, and reflects the president's belief in contributing to a better world in the 1980s, when Korean society was eager to change.
