The Hwanghak-dong Flea Market started as a 'Dokkaebi Market' (Goblin Market) where people who lost their homes after the Korean War sold goods flowing out of US military bases.

As time passed, it grew beyond simple secondhand goods trading into a 'Flea Market' encompassing scrap metal, antiques, and even discontinued household items.

You can freely enter the antique shops with old signboards without having to buy anything.
